Vorausgegangene städtebaulich und landschaftsarchitektonische Wettbewerbe thematisieren die Erinnerung, die Wahrnehmung, den Zeitenlauf, den Blick auf Vergangenes, das Zukünftige, die Offenheit und den Raum, sie lassen ein Landschaftsbild erahnen, welches über Generationen eine idealtypische Parklandschaft für das ehemalige Flugfeld Tempelhof entwickeln lässt. Reflektion und Resonanz sind sowohl Bild als auch Programm der Entwurfskonzeption. Der Spiegel des Sees, der Horizont des Himmels, die bestehende Ruderalvegetation, die Spuren der Nutzer, reflektieren das rückständig verändernde Bild des Parkes. Der offene Prozess der Konversion folgt dem zukünftigen Lauf der Zeiten und bebildert die Imagination und Impression des bestehenden und sich verändernden Landschaftsbildes, dessen Charakter die Veränderlichkeit des Raumes widerspiegelt. Der offene Raum des Flugfeldes innerhalb der umgebenden Stadt wirkt bei diesem Prozess, wie ein Resonanzkörper. Der Widerhall der Emotionen und Wünsche der Menschen kristallisiert in den Formen und Elementen des werdenden Parks.
Previous urban planning and landscape architecture competitions thematize memory, perception, the passage of time, the view of the past, the future, openness and space; they foreshadow a landscape that will allow an ideal-typical park landscape to develop over generations for the former Tempelhof airfield. Reflection and resonance are both image and program of the design concept. The mirror of the lake, the horizon of the sky, the existing ruderal vegetation, the traces of the users reflect the backward changing image of the park. The open process of conversion follows the future passage of time and illustrates the imagination and impression of the existing and changing landscape, whose character reflects the changeability of space. The open space of the airfield within the surrounding city acts like a resonating body in this process, the echoes of people's emotions and desires crystallized in the forms and elements of the becoming park.
